Why Counselling
It often goes unacknowledged that modern day living and loving is challenging and complex. It is a normal part of being human to experience some sort of difficulty, dissatisfaction or distress at times in our lives.
There are times when we find ourselves in situations or experiencing thoughts, feelings or behaviours that we don't understand or know how to deal with.
It may be the experience of pain, a major crisis, or rather, a general unshaking sense of unease, perhaps that something is “off”, or a lack of direction in life.

Precipitating Factors
You may be struggling with a particular aspect of life (such as work, study or relationships), the impact of a life change or transition, or specific mental, emotional, or even physical symptoms. You might be caught in a destructive way of thinking or behaving that you don’t know how to get out of. These concerns may be recent or long-standing.
It can be hard to know how to navigate our way through these times, leaving us feeling confused, stuck or alone. Reaching out for help is often the first step in overcoming obstacles to moving forward. This can seem incredibly daunting.
How Counselling Can Help
Sensitive and compassionate counselling can help you navigate your way through these difficult times, overcome personal roadblocks, and deal with the daily struggles of life.
Through working with a counsellor, you can be assisted to find a way to connect with the meaning that may be found through your experiences and the potential that is innate within you, to help bring you closer to the growth and positive change necessary to maintain a fulfilling life.

How Does It Work?
Book Session
To book a session, please contact me either through this website contact form, via email, or you can call or text.
If you’re interested in therapy but are a little unsure, we can arrange a 20 minute chat on the phone to discuss your concerns.
Each session will last 50 minutes.
Initial Session
Our initial meeting will be an assessment session where you will be given space to talk about the things that are troubling you.
I will ask you questions about your background and history, your current situation, and what you would like to get out of therapy.
This initial meeting gives you the opportunity to see if we would be a good match for working together, without making a commitment.
You can ask me any questions you may have, as it is very important that you find the right therapist for you.
Ongoing Sessions
After the initial session, you may want to take some time to decide whether to continue, or you may already know, and we can book in the next session.
If you decide to continue we will find a regular slot for you to attend weekly, and I would ask you to commit for an initial period of at least 5 sessions while we start to get to know each other.
